Ég fór að sjá Borat í gær og hló mig máttlausan. Smá vísir að því hversu góð þessi mynd er. Hérna eru nokkur review frá IMDB sem ættu að gefa til kynna hversu frábær hún er:
This is the worst, most execrable picture I have ever seen. Hateful entrapment parading as documentary, made by a sociopath projecting his own unforgiving limitations upon the rest of humanity. The misanthropy, misogyny, xenophobia, racism, bigotry and more, are palpable. Cohen and Co. seem to forget that it is, indeed, in humanity's job description to be fallible, stupid and cruel: we are a product of our environment. However social mores preclude the sane majority among us from acting out our foibles in public. I don't even want to know the ugly place from whence come the sad auteurs of this waste. Is that where they acquired their taste for coprophagia? ... This is the second-only film in my life which I chose to abandon, with no curiosity whatsoever to know if there is a point to it, because there isn't one. This uncompromising bile makes it the single most offensive filmed experience I have witnessed. I could not get home fast enough to shower off this sewer.
only walked out on one film in my life. This would have been #2 except that my wife couldn't believe there was nothing more after the rave reviews we read. I usually bust a gut at a funny movie, but all I got were a couple of chuckles. People are talking about a second level of humor; I couldn't find the first! The level of "humor" here is below rock bottom. Animal House & Porkies is miles above the level of "humor" in this piece of crap. I can't believe I spent $20 for this!
I am all for free speech and would never censor anything. But this was over the top. It went from tasteless sexual innuendo about incest, to raunchy disgusting comments on incest. It went from antisemitic racism "the Running of the Jew". It was highly offensive and it didn't matter on what because it was offensive about everything. Those with a warped sense of humor may find it amusing but I did not. Don't take anyone under 18 to this movie.
It was the most ignorant piece of crap i have ever seen. do not go to see this movie even if your life depended on it. it was the worst movie i have ever seen. if you liked this movie then you have no mind. the writer of this movie should stop making movies while hes behind. i have no idea how this utterly piece of crap actually made number one at the box office. it doesn't deserve that spot.
This movie is a bad ethnic joke. It depicts Kazaks in particular, and in general all people not raised in the United States, as ignorant, racist, sexist, abusive people (In fairness, it does depict some Americans as being equally disgusting.). I have spend time with people from many parts of the world, and have friends who live abroad. They and I have encountered the full range of attitudes we have here in the US, from the most racist and sexist to the most egalitarian and altruistic. This film does a disservice to both Americans and Kazaks.

Ég sá þessa mynd um daginn. Glíman á hótelherberginu var einmitt dálítið truflandi, í jákvæðri merkingu þess orðs. Þó svo að Borat hafi lengi vel verið í uppáhaldi hjá mér þá fannst mér heil bíómynd af vitleysunni vera dálítið of mikið af því góða. Ég var orðinn örlítið þreyttur á vitleysunni í lokin.
Mér finnst mjög asnalegt hvernig þetta lið er að gagnrýna myndina. Það skilur hana hreinlega ekki. Það er enginn rasismi þarna á ferð af hálfu kvikmyndagerðarmannanna heldur hið gagnstæða. Fuck em!
Borat er ein fyndnasta háðsdeila sem ég hef séð í lengri tíma, 6 af 5 stjörnum og óskarsverðlaun á alla línuna.
Það eru svona myndir sem gera heiminn að betri stað en hann var í gær, eykur skilning og opnar umræður um viðkomandi málefni, td. hefur velta ferðamannaiðnaðarins í kasakstan margfaldast eftir þessa mynd.
Einnig legg ég til að nektarglíma verði viðurkennd ólympísk íþrótt.
Ég var við það að falla í yfirlið og æla yfir glímu atriðinu. Þetta hlýtur að vera eitt það allra fyndnasta sem ég hef nokkru sinni séð. Ég hló svo mikið að mér leið líkamlega illa, eins og sum atriði í Team America nema lengri hlátur og meiri vanlíðan.
Annars er það yndislegt að lesa hvað fólk er ekki að fatta hugmyndina bakvið þessa mynd. Þetta er svo mega mikil háðsdeila. Þetta gengur svoldið út á það að ganga fram af fólki og síðan að draga fram mestu rasista og fasista skoðanir fólks fram með því að kóa.

Sérstaklega þykir mér skondið hvernig síðasta ræðumanni tekst gjörsamlega að misskilja á hvers kostnað brandarinn er - jafnvel þó hann eigi vini sem búa erlendis.
