I think he's trying to express the fundamentally draining nature of post-modern life, juxtaposing it brilliantly with the cold hard metal-centric reality of our species in the age of the machine. What is the worth of a man in terms of nuts and bolts, asks Boybear? How can a man's spirit not be drained when over half the human landscape he is presented with is composed of drains?
Provocative, daring, expressive. Four out of five stars.
